Architecture

The architects at Ahaa created a place that feels natural and unagitated and melts together with the local conditions. Following the basic principle of "touch the earth lightly", the buildings float above the terrain like pavilions so as not to interfere with the landscape.

The houses, just like the place, are meant to be simple, grounded and homely. They are built low, so you only get a glimpse of them when you approach through the fruit trees. The buildings are small, fragmented and widely spaced to remain as close as possible to the traditional buildings that characterise this rural region.

The geometry of the building, the roof construction and the wood used are based on the traditional architecture of the area. The special design language of the structure with the rounded corners and the curved roofs underlines the fairytale-like appearance of the rolling hills and orchards.

At a second glance, a world of its own opens up, and unfolds its beauty inside the building. It is the pentagon shape of the structure, that leads us into a new dimension.

The simple fact that the rooms have one more side than we are used to puts us in a whole new vibration.
